ASM ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION

 

The joint 2009 meetings of the American Society of Missiology and the Association of Professors of Mission will be held on June 18-21 at Techny Towers in Techny, Illinois. The theme for the ASM meeting was announced recently by the President, Bill Burrows. POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Professor of Missions and Global Christianity

Chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas, Baylor University is the oldest university in Texas and the world's largest Baptist University. Baylor's mission is to educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community. Baylor is actively recruiting new faculty with a strong commitment to the classroom and an equally strong commitment to discovering new knowledge as Baylor aspires to become a top tier research university all while retaining and remaining grounded in our strong Christian mission as described in Baylor 2012.  QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold Ph.D. and M.Div. degrees. They must possess ministry experience and be committed to the Baptist tradition with evidence of active involvement in the life of a congregation.  RESPONSIBILITIES: The position requires teaching seminary level courses related to missions, global Christianity, and world religions. It may also include teaching Doctor of Ministry seminars and supervising D.Min. students. The successful candidate will begin teaching responsibilities in August of 2009.  RANK AND SALARY: Tenure/tenure track, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract is for ten months, with the possibility of an additional stipend for teaching a summer course or for a summer sabbatical.  SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.  APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Please submit (1) a letter describing their qualifications for the position, personal faith, teaching philosophy, research agenda, and evidence of commitment to the ministry and the ongoing life of the Church; (2) a curriculum vitae; and (3) names of references.  Finalists will be required to submit letters of reference and academic transcripts.  Please send all materials to:
